Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the oversight of materials, information, and finances as they move in a process from supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer. SCM involves coordinating and integrating these flows both within and among companies. SCM includes the holistic process of movement and storage of raw material, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from the point of origin to points of consumption. Interconnected and interlinked networks, channels and node businesses are involved in the provision of provision of products and services required by end customers in a supply chain. SCM has been defined as the “design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand to measuring performance globally. SCM draws heavily from the areas of industrial engineering, systems engineering, operations management, logistics, procurement, and information technology, and strives for an integrated approach.

Master in Supply Chain Management (MSCM) specialization program is covering wide range of management discipline involved in the supply chain industries starting from procuring raw material untill end product received by end consumer.

Master in Supply Chain Management (MSCM) is the complement of other master degree programme offered in Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC) dealing with jobs environment of all industry as all involve movement of material and supply. Generally, Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the perfect pair with Logistics. Logistics is the enabler for SCM. Without Logistics, SCM can never be done and vice versa. Logistician and SCM professional with regards to this area of professions had been transformed into academic bachelor programs in UniKL MITEC, namely Bachelor in Industrial Logistics. In order to enhance the knowledge and skill subsequently guaranteed enhancement in career path, these Bachelor in Industrial Logistics levers and related industry worker, this new proposed programme need to be offered.

Entry Requirement

  • i. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
  • ii. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment ,OR
  • iii. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the HEP Senate and with relevant working experience subject to a rigorous internal assessment , OR
  • iv. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the HEP Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses; OR
  • v. Other equivalent/ related Qualifications to a bachelor’s degree (Level 6,MQF) recognized by the Malaysian government.

English Language Competency Requirements for International Students

  • i. All international students who wish to enroll into UniKL programme must meet the requirement of competence in English language as specified in MQA programme standard, EXCEPT:
    • International students who come from a country that uses English as first language; OR
    • International students who use qualifications from institutions that use English as a medium of instruction in full; OR
  • ii. UniKL shall recruit international students with Conditional Offer if the programme entry requirements or programme standards are met except English language.

     

    Recruitment of international students under conditional offer will have to comply with the following conditions:

    • International students are allowed to attend an internal English preparatory course at UniKL for a maximum period of 2 years; AND
    • International student who attend an internal English preparatory course at UniKL need to sit for MUET or any examination that is equal to The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) in order meet the English Language competency.
  • iii. In the absent of English Language competency in the respective programme standards, UniKL Senate/Boards of Academic agreed the requirement shall be as below:
    • For Bachelor and post grad programmes the English language requirements is IELTS 5.0 or equivalent;
    • For Diploma programmes the English language requirements is ELTS 4.0 or equivalent
